Makowka will manage relationships with AHA Ventures portfolio companies.
Jeffrey Makowka has joined AHA Ventures, the investment arm of US nonprofit American Heart Foundation, as a program and platform director.
Makowka was a program director at the American Heart Association’s Center for Health Technology & Innovation, a networking group and accelerator, for two-and-a-half years before joining AHA Ventures.
The American Heart Association formed AHA Ventures in 2023 to invest in general medtech and women’s health. It also runs an incubator for healthtech startups.
Makowka founded consulting firm Verwinden Co before joining the American Hearth Association. Before that he was director of market innovation at AARP, an advocacy group for older Americans.
