The hire is part of its goal to strengthen its presence in the biotech sector and expand its international investment platform.

Angelini Ventures, the investment arm of Italian industrial group Angelini Industries, has hired Regina Hodits as a managing director.
Based in Germany, Hodits will lead Angelini Ventures’ international biotech investment strategy while supporting innovation in therapeutics and biotech AI.
Before joining Angelini Ventures, Hodits was managing partner at European venture capital firm Wellington Partners, leading investments and establishing businesses.
This latest move reflects Angelini Ventures’ ambition to strengthen its biotech business and expand its international investment platform.
“Her appointment strengthens our ability to identify and scale breakthrough biotech companies across Europe and North America. I’m looking forward to working closely with Regina as we expand our presence in key innovation hubs, back world-class scientific talent and help bring forward innovations that will meaningfully improve health outcomes for patients,” Paolo Di Giorgio, CEO and managing director of Angelini Ventures, said in a release.
To date, Angelini Ventures, which focuses on brain health and consumer segments for women, children and the elderly, has invested €100m in 18 companies in diverse therapeutic areas.
“In this new role, I’ll be leveraging my experience and network – spanning founders, investors and academic leaders – to build the next generation of biotech leaders and help scale great science into impactful companies,” Hodits said in a LinkedIn announcement.
