Tyler Hayes has joined Dutch healthcare company Philips after investing in health tech companies at VC Thuja Capital.

Tyler Hayes has returned to the corporate VC space after nearly six years, joining healthcare technology company Philips’s startup investment team.

Hayes spent more than two-and-a-half years as principal at VC firm Thuja Capital, where he invested in startups such as immune-oncology technology developer Pan Cancer T, coagulation technology company Alveron, disease interpretation platform provider InnoSIGN and meniscus replacement technology provider ATRO Medical.

He did a corporate VC internship at Novartis in 2019, before a two-year stint as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group. He also has experience in medical research and emergency medical services.

Philips Ventures backs startups in a range of healthcare technologies. Its more recent investments include an $11m round for breast cancer test developer PreciseDx in June 2025.

Parent company Philips was a well known consumer electronics manufacturer, known for its electric shavers and kitchen appliances, but it sold off those business lines in the 2010s and has since focused on selling healthcare products.
