Former GM Ventures principal Ted Graham is joining the early-stage investment arm of Canadian telecommunications firm Telus as its latest partner.

Graham joins a 17-person team at Telus Global Ventures, overseen by managing partner Terry Doyle. The unit has taken part in autonomous driving technology provider Waabi’s $750m series C round as well as a $130m series C for quantum computing technology developer Photonic this year.

The move follows a brief stint at consulting firm PGUB Management Consultants. He was head of open innovation for General Motors before he joined the carmaker’s ventures unit in 2022.

Prior to joining General Motors, Graham was an innovation leader for consulting firm PwC’s Canadian arm. He will continue to be based in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, but his position at Telus Global Ventures will involve him having a global remit.
