Fidelity International Strategic Ventures (FISV), a UK-based VC subsidiary of Bermuda-registered financial services and investment group Fidelity International, has appointed Michael Sim partner.

Formed in 2018, FISV targets fintech startups in areas including wealth and asset management that are strategic to its parent firm. The unit has 22 active portfolio companies and has scored four exits.

FISV hired Sim in 2020 as vice-president before promoting him to principal the following year. He serves on the boards of portfolio companies including personal finance management platform Moneybox and Conquest Planning, which provides financial planning software.

Sim had previously spent nearly nine years at Eight Roads, another VC arm of Fidelity, that can trace its history back over 50 years.
