After six years at the CVC unit, Katelyn Johnson will be managing director at the investment firm where she will focus on fintech deals.
US investment firm Cohen Circle has hired Katelyn Johnson, formerly managing director of American Family Ventures, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of US insurer American Family.
Founded in 2015, Cohen Circle backs financial and impact-driven technology companies. Johnson will be managing director of the firm’s venture division, concentrating on fintech investments.
During her six-year spell at American Family Ventures from 2018, Johnson helped invest in companies including tyre vendor Tire Agent, smart home camera producer Wyze and XP Health, which provides visual exams and eyewear.
As part of her role at the CVC group, Johnson also offered mentoring to entrepreneurs at Harvard Business School’s Rock Centre for Entrepreneurship and pre-seed VC firm Techstars.
Before joining American Family Ventures, Johnson spent a year at healthcare VC firms Safeguard Scientifics and Sigma Prime Ventures.
