He said he would continue to invest in AI, quantum and cybersecurity.

Ben Daniels has left IBM Ventures after nearly nine years at the company to begin his own investment outfit.

His LinkedIn profile shows his next move as founding general partner of a new, as yet-unnamed, company in stealth.

“I am not going far. I will continue investing in early-stage AI, cybersecurity, and quantum in the U.S. and Israel,” he said on LinkedIn.

Having joined IBM in 2017 as a financial analyst, he was part of IBM Ventures’ founding team in 2019, eventually becoming partner in 2022.  Prior to IBM, he spent nearly a year as co-founder of Armfield Capital Management.

IBM Ventures’ investments over the past year include private AI platform for secure enterprise information Atolio and cybersecurity technology provider Ox Security.
