Drew D'Alelio will be based in Boston on the US east coast.
Drew D’Alelio has joined Sabanci Climate Ventures, the corporate venture arm of the Turkish industrial and financial conglomerate, as investment manager.
D’Alelio was previously a principal at Connecticut Innovations, the US state’s VC investment fund. He cofounded the the VC’s $100m climate tech fund, which invests equity and provides debt financing to early and late stage startups in climate-related sectors.
Sabanci Climate Ventures is a $200m fund that invests directly in climate tech startups as well as in funds. Portfolio companies include geothermal energy company Fervo Energy, fusion startup Commonwealth Fusion Systems and AiDASH, a provider of vegetation risk intelligence for electric utilties.
Sabanci’s diversified business lines include power plants, renewable energy, energy distribution, banking and digital services.
