Former East Ventures operating partner David Fernando Audy has moved to the Indonesian conglomerate’s Sinarmas Agribusiness and Food unit.

David Fernando Audy, Sinar Mas

David Fernando Audy has left his operating partner role at venture capital firm East Ventures and joined corporate Sinar Mas.

Based in Jakarta, Audy has taken a director position at the Sinarmas Agribusiness and Food subsidiary, which is one of the seven businesses operated by the Indonesian conglomerate.

East Ventures hired Audy in 2021 after his nearly two decades in the media industry. There, he helped manage the firm’s operations with CVC units Sinar Mas Digital Ventures and YJ Capital, part of Sinar Mas and internet company Yahoo Japan, respectively (the latter was later reorganised under Z Holdings’ Z Venture Capital fund).

Previously, Audy was chief executive of media conglomerate Media Nusantara Citra and a director at broadcaster Global Mediacom. Before that, he was also WeChat Indoneisa’s CEO and Rakuten Indonesia’s ecommerce joint venture head.

“There have been some personnel changes due to unique, personal circumstances,” East Ventures CEO Willson Cuaca told DealStreetAsia.
