Adam Coccari has been made the managing director of HubSpot Ventures, the CVC of US AI-powered business software platform HubSpot.

He leads the unit, which invests in startups building apps and infrastructure in areas adjacent to HubSpot’s main customer platform offering. These include sales, marketing, customer service, data analysis and AI.

Coccari joins after spending two years as managing director of Intuit Ventures, the CVC of Intuit, a US maker of financial software products for businesses and individuals, such as TurboTax, which helps users file US tax returns. In April, Intuit Ventures took part in the $30m series B funding round for Anrok, a sales tax compliance manager for software companies.

Before that, he was operating partner of M12, Microsoft’s CVC, and the head of portfolio development. This was his first role in venturing, which he joined in 2017 after working at Microsoft for three years.

HubSpot Ventures was founded in 2018. In September, it took part in the $11.5m seed funding round for Artisan AI, a US company that makes human-like digital workers to be integrated within teams for specific tasks. It also participated in the 2021 $30m series B funding round for Descript, an AI video editing platform.
