After four years running the US retail giant's investment arm, Balasubramaniam has left to become McAfee's head of corporate development.
Jaya Balasubramaniam has left her role as head of strategy, operations and incubation at the US retailer Walmart to join US cybersecurity software company McAfee as chief strategy and corporate development officer.
Balasubramaniam joined Walmart in 2020 as head of incubation, strategy and operations at Store No.8, its investment arm. Store No.8 built, partnered with and then would buy startups. It announced it was closing the unit in early 2024.
In her new role, she will oversee corporate strategy, development, M&A and product innovation.
Before Walmart, Balasubramaniam spent 11 years at the multinational assurance firm Deloitte, where she led the digital venture and innovation practice.
