Alves has accepted a new position at Brazilian cosmetics distributor Grupo Boticário.
Arthur Alves has announced his departure from Gerdau Next, the corporate venture capital firm of Brazil-based steel producer Gerdau.
Alves said in a LinkedIn post that he is taking on a new position as a ‘strategic thinking senior manager’ at Grupo Boticário, a São Paulo-based cosmetics retailer. He served a year as Gerdau Next’s corporate venture capital manager
Alves began at Gerdau in February 2022 as a corporate venture capital team member and investor. He was a GCV’s Top 50 Emerging Leader in 2024.
Before joining Gerdau, he was a corporate venture capital leader for less than a year at ACE Cortex, a business consulting firm that specialises in corporate venturing. Alves spent five years at security solutions provider Souza Lima Group where he held various positions such as corporate venture capital and innovation manager and product manager.
