Abdullah Albesher spent more than eight years at Aramco Ventures, the CVC arm of the Saudi oil company.
Abdullah Albesher has joined Saudi insurance company Tawuniya to head up its venture capital arm, Tawuniya Ventures.
He has spent the past eight-and-a-half years at Saudi Aramco’s startup investment unit, Aramco Ventures, as investment manager.
Tawuniya has been active in VC for a few years under the banner of Tawuniya Digital Ventures, which focused on insurtech, fintech, healthtech and other emerging technology.
Last year, Tawuniya also launched a $225,000 insurtech accelerator programme in partnership with Google and Plug and Play, focuses on AI and insurance innovation.
