Jane Sajeekarn Prescott, who joined Siam Cement Group in 2016, has been promoted to lead its CVC unit as managing director.
AddVentures, the corporate venturing arm of Thai building materials corporation Siam Cement Group (SCG), has promoted principal Jane Sajeekarn Prescott to managing director.
Founded in 2017, AddVentures targets early-stage Southeast Asian companies at series A and B stages developing business-to-business, industrial and enterprise technologies strategic to its parent firm’s businesses.
SCG is one of the largest industrial conglomerates in the region providing construction materials, packaging, chemicals and logistics products and services.
Based in Bangkok, Prescott will be leading the 10-person team at AddVentures and report to SCG corporate innovation director Pisarn (Oui) Sanyadechakul. She joined the CVC unit in 2017 as an investment manager to help set up the fund.
Prior to joining AddVentures, Prescott held a six-month stint in 2016 as an assistant manager at SCG’s corporate planning division. She helped design accelerator Startup Studio, devise technology partnership strategy and launch the CVC unit.
AddVentures’ portfolio includes Singaporean cross-border ecommerce logistics platform Janio, Vietnamese B2B lorry service marketplace Logivan and Dekoruma, an Indonesian home interior renovation service.
The unit is a limited partner in telecommunications firm SoftBank’s South Korea-based SoftBank Ventures Asia unit. It also backed VC firms Wavemaker and Vertex Ventures’ Southeast Asia and India fund.
