Carmaker BMW’s corporate venturing arm, BMW i Ventures, took part in a $300m series B round for Our Next Energy, a US-based developer of advanced batteries for electric vehicles, valuing it at $1.2bn. Fifth Wall and Franklin Templeton co-led the round, which included Temasek, Riverstone Holdings, Coatue, AI Capital Partners, Sente Ventures, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Assembly Ventures, Volta Energy Technologies and two undisclosed investors.
