Alameda Research and existing backer Coinbase Ventures helped the cryptocurrency data provider close its latest round.

US-headquartered cryptocurrency data provider Messari has completed a $21m series A round featuring quantitative trading firm Alameda Research and Coinbase Ventures, the strategic investment arm of digital currency exchange Coinbase.

Venture capital firm Point72 Ventures led the round, which included Blockchain Ventures, Galaxy Digital, Gemini Frontier Fund, Kraken Ventures, CMS Holdings, Nascent, Underscore VC and angel investor Diogo Monica.
