Australia-based, blockchain-focused gaming platform Immutable; Polygon Labs, a subsidiary of US-based Web3 development platform Polygon; and venture capital firm King River Capital have collaborated to launch a gaming fund.

The Inevitable Games Fund is an ecosystem-agnostic fund that identifies startups in the web3 gaming sector. The fund will use the resources provided by Immutable and Polygon Labs to identify high-growth opportunities for investors.

The Inevitable Games Fund will have a final cap on fund size of $100m and has received support from Merit Circle, a web3 gaming corporation, and Alpha Wave Ventures, the venture unit of Alpha Wave Global.

The fund has already invested in seven companies including Pixelmon, Metalcore and My Pet Hooligan.

“We are excited to be launching this pioneering fund in partnership with King River Capital and assisted by Polygon Labs,” said Robbie Ferguson, president and co-founder of Immutable. “Our combined expertise, global relationships, and industry reach ideally position the fund to identify and invest in the best web3 gaming and gaming infrastructure opportunities globally.”
