OpenAI joined Anthropic, Waymo and Databricks in a group of rounds that shattered previous funding records, taking CVC investment to new heights.

A heading illustrating February 2026's CVC funding data

A host of mega rounds headlined by generative AI developer OpenAI’s gargantuan $110bn raise pushed corporate VC to its largest month yet in February.

The round helped boost the overall funding raised in CVC-backed venture rounds to $181bn last month, well over three times the previous high, achieved just two months ago in December 2025.

That growth is despite the number of corporate-backed deals actually dropping down to 444 rounds for the month, the lowest number since last August – traditionally an extremely slow time for activity. It does, however, represent a 15% increase on the number of CVC deals recorded in February 2025.
