Italy-headquartered integrated energy company Eni has named Clara Andreoletti as president and chief executive for its corporate venturing arm, Eni Next.

Andreoletti has relocated from Milan, Italy, where she was head of natural resources support services at Eni, to the US city of Boston.

Formed in 2019, Eni Next targets companies working on sustainable energy production and industrial digitalisation technologies, areas that are strategic to Eni‘s goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Andreoletti has been working at Eni since 2002, and has held various positions across Italy and Ghana including head of geosciences and subsurface operations data management and director of the natural resources transformation programme.

Eni Next’s current investments include Commonwealth Fusion Systems, which designs and builds fusion machines, and C-Zero, which is working to decarbonise a range of industries using zero-emissions hydrogen.
