Zixin Pan is a senior investment associate at Shell Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of oil and gas producer Royal Dutch Shell.
Shell Ventures invests in early-stage companies that are developing innovative energy technologies, and it also backs technology spinouts of Shell. In addition to new energy, the unit also focuses on mobility, digital and data and resources.
Its portfolio includes car rental platform Cazoo, hydrogen-powered aviation technology developer ZeroAvia, shared electric mobility company Envoy, solar energy company Sunseap, utility analytics technology provider Innowatts, energy internet of things platform GreenCom Networks, autonomous vehicle lidar and sensor technology producer Sense Photonics.
Pan has been at Shell Ventures since late 2014 when she joined as trading and appraisal analyst. Before becoming senior investment associate in January this year, Pan was investment associate from 2017, prior to which she spent a year as UK retail finance adviser.
She had previously held analyst internships at Accenture and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in 2014 and 2010, respectively.
She earned a master’s degree in risk management and financial engineering from Imperial College London and a bachelor’s degree in economics and financial mathematics from University of Liverpool.
