Nassau Financial Group, a US insurance and asset management firm, is committing $10m to invest in insurtech and fintech startups.

Based in the US state of Connecticut, Nassau is a digitally focused financial services company founded in 2015 with capital from private equity firm Golden Gate Capital.

The new corporate venturing programme will have an investment focus on startups innovating in the retirement planning sector. It has run an incubator and events focused on startups and scale-ups in the retirement and longevity sectors.

“A lot of fintech and insurtech is in the retirement conversation, and that is where we play,” says Laura Dinan Haber, innovation brand director at Nassau Financial.

“We are expanding the retiretech brand to attract more thought leaders and startups and scale-ups.”

The CVC team of three plan to invest in early and mid-stage startups.
