The US financial services company has launched Edward Jones Ventures, focusing on fintech startups to advance its wealth management offerings.
Edward Jones, a US financial services firm that provides investment advice, brokerage and management services, has announced the launch of a venture fund called Edward Jones Ventures.
It will target startups that are innovating in its core business areas, including fintech companies making technologies that can be applied to investing and wealth management, as well as IT applications.
Edward Jones Ventures already has an active portfolio, having taken ownership of some of the company’s previous investments. These include Porch Software, which makes a digital platform with a suite of programmes for financial advisors, such as data connection and automation of manual processes. Another is Waterlily, which uses AI to predict long-term healthcare needs of a user, a tool which insurers can use for their clients, one of a number of startups using AI for such purposes.
Goalsetter, a financial education platform designed for family use, is an existing Edward Jones portfolio company that has been transferred to the fund for management. Edward Jones co-led the $9.6m series A extension funding round in March 2024.
