China-based electricity company CLP Group has invested in Germany-based venture capital firm Future Energy Ventures’ VC fund II.

Future Energy Ventures Fund II focuses on accelerating and investing in startups that develop and implement digital solutions for the energy transition. The fund raised $117.5m at the start of the year with E.ON, the international energy company, and the European Investment Fund.

CLP Group has backed 15 companies. It most recently took part in Swiss neuromorphic computing platform SynSense’s $10m pre-series B+ round in March 2023.

“With CLP as our trusted partner, I’m confident that together, we will not only drive transformative change in the energy sector but also pave the way for a brighter, cleaner, and more sustainable future for generations to come,” said Jan Lozek, founder and managing director at Future Energy Ventures, on LinkedIn.
