ArcelorMittal led the first tranche of Boston Metal’s $120m series C round while GV helped Google spinoff Osmo raise $60m.

Funds US-based cybersecurity software provider Tenable has formed a corporate venturing arm called Tenable Ventures. The unit will focus on early-stage risk management technology developers and intends to invest up to $25m. Healthcare and insurance firm UnitedHealth Group has led a $10m close for Invest Appalachia Fund, an investment initiative focused on community health, agricultural, housing and clean energy startups in the US states of Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Blockchain-based financial app development platform Injective has formed a $150m fund that will focus on Web3 technology developers. Trading firms Flow Traders and Jump Trading, cryptocurrency researcher Delphi Digital and crypto exchanges Kraken, KuCoin and Gate.io are also backing the initiative, as did Pantera Capital and IDG Capital. UAE-based, Web3-focused incubator Tané has raised ¥1bn ($7.7m) in capital from investors including telecommunications firm SoftBank’s Deepcore unit and internet company DeNA. The corporates were joined as limited partners by X Tech Ventures, B Dash Ventures and unnamed private investors. Public markets New Ruipeng Pet Group, a China-based veterinary clinic operator backed by corporates Tencent, Country Garden, Boehringer Ingelheim, Nestlé Group and Sunshine Insurance Group, filed to raise up to $100m in an initial public offering on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. M&A Computer manufacturer Dell has acquired Cloudify, an Israel-based IT automation software developer spun off by computing technology provider GigaSpaces and backed by corporates KPN, CreditEase, VMware and Intel, for up to $100m, a source familiar with the matter told TechCrunch. VMware, KPN Ventures and CreditEase Israel Innovation Fund were among the investors in a $7m round in 2018. Infant-focused marketplace Babylist has paid an undisclosed amount to buy portfolio company Expectful, the US-based creator of a pregnancy support platform. The corporate was part of a $3m seed round for Expectful in early 2021. GPU compute cloud provider CoreWeave has purchased Conductor Technologies, a US-based media and entertainment cloud platform, for an undisclosed amount, allowing 3D design software provider Autodesk to exit. Autodesk and venture firm Walden Venture Capital had supplied an undisclosed amount of series A funding for the company in 2017. Gaming technology provider Mythical Games has acquired DMarket, a US-based NFT trading marketplace backed by game sales technology producer Xsolla, for an undisclosed sum. Xsolla took part in a $6.5m round in 2020 that followed a $19m initial coin offering.
