M&A
Cloud and IT services firm Hewlett Packard Enterprise has acquired portfolio company Pachyderm, a US-based data science technology developer also backed by software provider Microsoft, for an undisclosed sum. HPE revealed its Hewlett Packard Pathfinder subsidiary invested in Pachyderm in February 2022, 18 months after Microsoft unit M12 led a $16m series B round taking its total funding to $28m.
SailPoint Technologies bought SecZetta, the US-based developer of an identity authentication software platform, in a deal of undisclosed size allowing insurance firm Massachusetts Mutual Life to exit. The corporate’s MassMutual Ventures unit led a $20.5m series B round in 2021 that followed $10m in series A funding.
Stake Sale
Ecommerce group Alibaba has sold $125m of shares in One97 Communications, the India-based operator of digital payment services platform Paytm, representing a 3.1% stake, The Business Times reported, citing a source familiar with the matter. One97 is also backed by fellow corporates Ant Group, Berkshire Hathaway, Intel and SoftBank.
