M&A
Prosus, the internet group formed by e-commerce conglomerate Naspers, has agreed to buy the 33.3% stake in Brazil-based portfolio company iFood it does not own, from fellow food delivery service Just Eat Holding for €1.5bn ($1.5bn) in cash and an additional contingent consideration of up to €300m. It came after about $590m in funding for iFood including a $500m round featuring Naspers and local e-commerce services affiliate Movile in 2018.
Life sciences robotics producer iZafe has signed a letter of intent to acquire Pilloxa, a Sweden-based smart pillbox app operator backed by media group Bonnier, for approximately SEK30m ($2.8m). Bonnier Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Bonnier, had provided $1.3m for the company in 2019.
A global company and a similarly undisclosed private equity fund have acquired Flusso, a UK-based flow sensor system provider backed by aerospace manufacturer Marshall of Cambridge’s Martlet subsidiary, for £28m ($33.1m). Flusso had raised $10.7m including $5.7m in a Martlet-backed series A round in mid-2020.
