George He, president of Lenovo Capital, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2025 Powerlist.

George He (He Zhiqiang) is president and founder of Lenovo Capital, the corporate venturing arm of global technology company Lenovo, a PC company with a full-stack portfolio of AI-enabled and AI-optimised devices, infrastructure, software, solutions and services.

Its main investment areas include AI and industry applications, computing infrastructure, embodied intelligence, smart healthcare, advanced manufacturing and new energy.

He is a company veteran, having joined Lenovo Group in 1986. He also leads the company’s Incubator Group, which he launched in 2016.

He has been the key contributor for Lenovo’s product lines and technologies and has been in charge of building Lenovo’s research system and technology strategy. He founded and led Lenovo Research and Technology in 1999 and Lenovo Ecosystem and Cloud Services Group in 2014.

The investment unit has invested in more than 270 companies. Its exits include 20 initial public offerings of companies such as CATL, Meituan, NIO, SmartSens and SUPCON. It has also incubated more than 10 subsidiaries and businesses such as SHAREit, Lenovo Connect, Lenovo Cloud, Lenovo New Vision and Leshines.

The unit has been a prolific investor in Chinese startups over the past two years. This year, it has already invested in 10 startups tracked by Global Corporate Venturing.

AI investments have been a particular focus for the venture unit. In April it invested in Memsilicon, a Chinese developer of advanced RRAM storage and AI computing technologies, which raised $13.8m in an undisclosed round, and Galaxea AI, a Chinese developer of embodied intelligence for perception, movement and manipulation.

Robotics is also a strong focus for the investment arm. Recent investments in the sector include: LimX Dynamics, a robot research and manufacturing company, which raised $69m in a series A+ round in March and Lingbao Casbot, a maker of general-purpose humanoid robots, which raised $13.7m in an undisclosed round in February this year. It has also invested in robotics research and development company zj-humanoid and Robotera, a maker of a variety of humanoid robots.
