Tim Romero has spent most of his career in Japan as a founder, podcaster and startup investor.
Tim Romero, former head of a Google startup accelerator in Japan, has joined the corporate venture capital arm of Japanese power company Jera.
Romero will be partner at Jera Ventures, which invests in clean energy and employee wellbeing startups. He also is the host and founder of Disrupting Japan podcast.
Romero was head of Google for Startups Japan in Tokyo for almost four years. Before that he was chief technology officer at Tepco Ventures, the corporate venture unit of Japan’s largest energy company.
Jera is a joint venture between Tepco Fuel & Power, a Tepco subsidiary, and Chubu Electric Power, a Japanese utility.
