Software developer-focused recruitment firm Andela was valued at $1.5bn in a series E round led by Softbank Vision Fund 2.

Telecommunications and internet group Softbank’s Vision Fund 2 led a $200m series E round yesterday for Andela, the US-based operator of a recruitment service for software developers, at a $1.5bn valuation.

The round included Whale Rock Capital Management, Generation Investment Management (Generation IM), Spark Capital and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, an investment holding vehicle for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.
