Cloud computing communications company Gotye has raised an undisclosed amount of series A funding from the corporate venturing arm of Intel.

Intel Capital, the corporate venturing subsidiary of chipmaker Intel, has invested an eight-figure dollar sum in China-based cloud communications company Gotye, Technode reported on Monday.

Gotye provides free application programming interface and software development kits for the development of mobile apps.

Although a firm figure has not been released, Gotye has claimed it represents the largest round ever raised by a China-based cloud communications company.

The series A funding will be used to support the application of Gotye’s communication services to the hardware industry, and to enhance it using the latest cloud communication technology.
