Autodesk has led a $26.8m series C round for aPriori, which will use the money to accelerate the development of its product cost management platform.

US-based enterprise cost management software developer aPriori has closed a $26.8m series C round led by architecture and design software producer Autodesk.

NewSpring Capital, PBJ Capital, Oyster Angel Fund, Sigma Partners, Sigma Prime Ventures and Gutbrain Ventures filled out the round.

Spun out of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004, aPriori has built a software platform that enables clients in industries such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing to determine the cost and manufacturing feasibility of designs in real time.

The series C funding will accelerate the development of aPriori’s platform including the potential addition of dedicated applications for engineering, sourcing and manufacturing teams.

The company had previously raised at least $53m according to regulatory filings. It received $11.2m from investors including Sigma Partners and Bain Capital in 2007. Sigma Partners provided another $5m of funding in 2012 before Sigma Prime Ventures led a $6m round the following year.
