Streem, a home services AR software developer whose shareholders include Oregon State University-backed Rogue Venture Partners, is raising a second funding round.
Streem, a US-based home services software developer whose investors include Oregon State University-backed Rogue Venture Partners, has raised $6.8m in funding, according to a regulatory filing.
The round is targeting a total of $8.7m, leaving approximately $2m of equity to be sold.
Founded in 2017, Streem offers augmented reality (AR)-powered software for the home services industry that enables tradespeople such as decorators and plumbers to inspect jobs through a high-definition video stream captured from the client’s smartphone.
AR overlays available through Streem’s software include a so-called “digital toolbox” that can be applied to take important notes such as measurements. The service is free for consumers, generating its revenue from a monthly $19 charge for professionals.
Ryan Fink, CEO of Streem, has reportedly said he hopes to expand Streem’s range of AR tools to cater for professionals in industries including hospitality, retail and online media.
Rogue Venture Partners featured in Streem’s $3.7m two-tranche seed round in December 2017 and March this year, investing alongside Archivist Capital, Oregon Venture Fund, Portland Seed Fund, Flying Fish Partners and Betaworks Ventures.
AR-focused vehicle GVR Fund, Columbia Ventures, Curious Capital and GCV Capital also backed the seed round, while General Catalyst AR Fund invested in connection with Betaworks’ Visioncamp accelerator program.
VC firm Loup Ventures disclosed it had backed Streem without providing a figure in September this year, and the startup reportedly also counts Greycroft among its investors.
