The genomic testing platform developer has now raised some $140m, eight years after being co-founded in EPFL's Innovation Park by researchers from EMBL, Stanford and Geneva University.

Switzerland-based genomics technology provider Sophia Genetics has raised $77m in funding from investors led by investment firm Generation Investment Management. Private equity firm Idinvest Partners, venture capital firm Balderton Capital and Alychlo, the investment vehicle for pharmaceutical entrepreneur Marc Coucke, also contributed to the round.
