Lettus Grow, an irrigation system provider from University of Bristol and SetSquared's ecosystem, has been backed by the university's Enterprise Fund.
Lettus Grow, a UK-based irrigation system developer affiliated with University of Bristol and the SetSquared incubator, has obtained an undisclosed sum from the university’s Enterprise Fund II, managed by Parkwalk Advisors.
Parkwalk Advisors is a fund management division of commercialisation firm IP Group.
Founded in 2015, Lettus Grow makes irrigation systems for farms based on its aeroponic technology, whereby crops are nurtured with LED light rays and water mist, rather than using soil as with traditional agricultural processes.
The approach is intended to better oxygenate crop roots, helping farmers yield improved flavours and realise faster growth from plantations.
Lettus Grow received $5,300 in prize funding from University of Bristol’s New Enterprise Competition in November 2017, the same year it joined SetSquared, which Bristol operates together with the universities of Bath, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey.
