Buddy Media, a US-based social media marketing company backed by advertising group WPP, has bought peer Spinback, which helps retailers track the return on investment for their social media efforts.

Quikr has raised about $19m since it launched with the latest round led by led by Nokia Growth Partners.

Alongside Comcast Interactive Capital in the $20m C round for JiWire were venture capital firms Trident Capital, which led the round, and DFJ Frontier, Norwest Venture Partners and Panorama Capital.

Last month, in a regulatory filing, JumpTap said it had raised $20m but the repeat investors in the latest $25m round include ad services group WPP.

Footballer Ronaldo and WPP own 45% of his new company with business partner Marcus Buaiz the remainder, according to news provider Financial Times (FT).
