Ruchit Majmudar, lead venture manager and principal at Ørsted Ventures, is one of our top 50 Rising Stars in corporate venturing for 2026.

Ruchit Majmudar joined Ørsted’s ventures and open innovation unit in 2023 and has built many of the venturing efforts from the ground up, defining its thesis, branding and operating model.
Majmudar, a lead venture manager and principal at the CVC, was an investor at JetBlue Ventures for three years before joining the Danish offshore wind developer.
He credits his former managers at JetBlue Ventures, Amy Burr and Raj Singh, for teaching him all he knows about doing CVC well and has tried to emulate that model at Ørsted.
“We will also focus on being able to realise additional strategic value from our existing partnerships with portfolio companies and move those from pilot stage into commercial contracts.”
Since starting at Ørsted, Majmudar has invested in Spoor, Crux and Amperon, each of which he has aimed to deliver strategic value through commercial contracts, market insights, or pilots with Ørsted’s business units. He handles around 200mDKK ($31m) in assets under management. In 2025, the team continued to do follow-on funding rounds and supported its existing portfolio companies. The department has also continued to run pilot projects with startups, as well as work on building internal spinouts.
Majmudar plans to focus on horizon three technologies in 2026 and future opportunities that could expand the Danish offshore wind developer beyond its core business. “We will further shape our innovation thesis and operating model. We will also focus on being able to realise additional strategic value from our existing partnerships with portfolio companies and move those from pilot stage into commercial contracts,” he says.
New technologies Majmudar has his eye on are in the realm of AI-enabled digitisation of renewable energy operations, such as asset performance monitoring and predictive maintenance. “We are going to see the wind farm of tomorrow. We are going to see safer, more predictable operations and be able to create a wind farm that is running much more efficiently than it is now.”

The Rising Stars are early-career corporate venture professionals who are making an outstanding contribution to their teams and the industry.
