Microsoft has acquired the Verizon-backed video discovery technology company for a reported figure of almost $100m.

Online retail company Rakuten has acquired the Indigo-backed eBook company Kobo for $315m.

Semiconductor firm SandForce is acquired by one of its investors, the LSI Corporation, for $322m.

The corporate-backed online location-as-a-service company has acquired mobile software developer Wirkle and online group messaging service Volly.

The internet giant has reportedly been linked to an investment in social networking site Kaixin, thought to be about $100m.

Cisco's acquisition of BNI Video follows the video platform business receiving backing from Cisco, Comcast and Time Warner Cable last year.

Oracle is set to acquire software developer Endeca, which is backed by both Intel and SAP, for an undisclosed sum.

The corporate-backed video streaming site says it terminated the sale because of the business's "unique and compelling strategic value to each of its owners".

The pair of corporate venturing units are set to net some of the proceeds from the up to $90m sale of mobile cloud company DeviceAnywhere.

The business video company had raised at least $25.7m, based on all publicly available venture and debt funding rounds, and it has had three years of 45% year on year revenue growth.
