Google Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners have led a $10m A round of ride-share start-up SideCar.

The corporate venturing unit of US delivery company UPS has led a $3.2m investment in UK courier web service Shutl to aid in their U.S expansion.

Japan state and corporate-backed venture capital firm Jafco Ventures led the B round as a new investor, with participation from existing investors, venture capital firms Accel Partners and Harrison Metal Capital.

Shareholders in Lifelock include American global computer security software corporation Symantec Corp (8.2%) and investment banking firm Goldman Sachs (10.9%) as well as venture firms Bessemer Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Industry Ventures.

Enterprise data management company Rainstor continues expansion and product development with financial banking from venture companies and several multinational corporations including Credit Suisse and Dow Chemical.

The Techsparks India 2011 winner, Capillary Technologies, has closed its Series A round raising $15.m led by Sequoia Capital and Norwest Venture Partners and with investment from Qualcomm's corporate venturing unit.
