Optoro has now raised about $115m in equity financing after closing a series D round that included new investor UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund.

JD.com returned to invest in the electronics recycling service, having contributed to the $60m series C round it closed in 2015.

Rakuten and Saudi Telecom led the first close of what ride ordering service Careem hopes will be a $500m round, with existing backer Al Tayyar also participating.

Saudi Telecom, an investor in the Middle East-based ride ordering service since its 2013 series A round, provided the funding at a $1bn valuation.

Rakuten and new investor Citi Ventures contributed to a round that took the business finance platform's overall funding to $113m.

Comcast and 7-Eleven previously backed a $15m series C round in September 2016.

Legend Capital returned for the round that also featured a host of other insurance providers and Chinese state-owned entities such as Temasek.
