Kobo said Indigo maintained its controlling position but existing investors, which also includes China's Cheung Kong Holdings, provided C$13m of the total with the rest coming from a group led by an institutional investor.

In September mobile phone maker Nokia's corporate venturing division led the previous $10m series B round for Rocket Fuel, and was joined by Northgate, Mohr Davidow and Labrador.

Venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA) led the $30m C round for TidalTV, and was joined by fellow reinvesting VC firm Valhalla Partners and Comcast Interactive Capital, the corporate venturing unit of local cable company Comcast.

The $5.5m from Intel Capital-led consortium will help Total Immersion expand in US and Asia for its D'Fusion augmented reality platform.
