BioNanomatrix's previous investors, KT Venture Group, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor equipment company KLA-Tencor, and non-profit research group Battelle Memorial Institute through its corporate venturing units Battelle Ventures and Innovation Valley Partners, reinvested in the $23.3m B round.

American Medical Systems joins consortium investing $12.6m in US-based peer NxThera.

Google Ventures extends CoolPlanetBioFuels B round to about $20m.

The consortium backing Pricelock's $12m B round includes banks Goldman Sachs and Barclays, insurers RenaissanceRe's corporate venturing unit RenaissanceRe Ventures and Travelers Insurance, and venture capital firm Artiman Ventures.

Waste Management had previously invested in Harvest Power in January last year, a month after a regulatory filing said the portfolio company closed a $10m round.

Venture capital (VC) firm Emergence Capital led the B round in VigLink as a new investor and was joined by Google Ventures and VC firm First Round Capital. VigLink has now raised $7.3m since it started.

News provider TechCrunch said MediaMath's investors in the latest round would be medical device maker Safeguard Scientific and venture capital firms QED, European Founders Fund and SJS.

Alongside Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation in Astute Medical's $13m B extension are venture capital firms Domain Associates, Delphi Ventures and De Novo Ventures.

Samplify Systems raised $11.2m in its series B round from Nasdaq-listed technology company Integrated Device Technology, venture capital firms Charles River Ventures and Formative Ventures as well as Schlumberger.

Harshul Sanghi, managing director of Motorola Mobility Ventures, said: "Moblyng was an early adopter of Android and is an industry leader in using HTML5 to bring cross-platform social gaming experiences to mobile devices."
