Baxter International's corporate venturing unit was also joined by existing investors, bringing its total venture funding to $8.4m.
Japan state and corporate-backed venture capital firm Jafco Ventures led the B round as a new investor, with participation from existing investors, venture capital firms Accel Partners and Harrison Metal Capital.
Macquarie Capital led the Series B round for advertising technology company and Facebook partner Brandscreen, which closed at $11.2m.
Intel Capital was joined by existing backers investing in the US-based cloud-storage firm.
The latest 10 investments by Intel Capital are split geographically between the US, China, India, South Korea and Brazil, and include an investment in US-based content sharing company Box, which recently raised $125m.
"There's a whole world of innovation out there outside of social media. It's a huge growth area, but we're investing a lot of money in life sciences," said Google Ventures managing partner William Maris to news provider CNBC.
Foundation Medicine ploughs ahead with series B financing round drawing investments from life science research firm WuXi Apptech, asset management firm CIFC and previous backers Google Ventures, and Roche Venture Fund amongst others.
