Verizon Ventures has revealed an investment in payments processing service SimplyTapp, which recently raised $8.5m in its series B round.

Harju Elekter led the ultracapacitor manufacturer's series B round, which will support an expansion in its workforce and production capabilities.

McKesson Ventures, Cambria Health Solutions and Catholic Health Initiatives all contributed to a $13.3m series B round for the telemedicine provider.

The bespoke tailored clothes seller raised the money from Legend Holdings and IDG Capital, the latter of which invested $10m in the company in 2011.

Baidu has also formed a strategic partnership with the bus wifi provider, an affiliate of outdoor advertising company VisionChina, which operates in 18 Chinese cities.

The bus tracking app has secured $15m, less than a year after closing a series A round that also reportedly featured Alibaba.

Axel Springer joined a range of previous investors to provide series B capital for the online media company, taking its total funding to approximately $32m.

Flextronics was among the investors in a series B round that will enable Canary to expand the manufacturing line for its home monitoring system.

Yahoo Japan's corporate venturing subsidiary made its first Israel-based investment in the round, boosting Ubimo's total funding to $9.7m.
