Nasdaq-listed HomeAway joins Ctrip.com International, an online travel service provider in China also listed on Nasdaq, and venture capital firms, Lightspeed China Partners and CDH Investments, in Tujia's financing.

The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

The portfolio company also said its users have answered questions on more than 2,000 topics over 85 million times since it launched in October.

Separately, Mixpanel, a US-based analytics platform for mobile and web, has raised $10m in its series A round from a consortium including Salesforce's founder and chief executive, Marc Benioff.
