What do you do after you have launched a spinout that has raised venture capital from illustrious backers such as pharmaceutical firm Novo, care provider Kaiser Permanente and medical device manufacturer St Jude Medical, and successfully gone public through a $107m initial public offering?

A host of corporate and government-backed initiatives have been launched to tackle the coronavirus that develops into the Covid-19 disease. In a global, fast-moving pandemic, this can only be a snapshot of the efforts at the end of March 2020.

The United Nations-backed Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has previously estimated the world will need to remove an average of 10 gigatons –10 billion tons – of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year from the atmosphere by 2050.

Netherlands-based financial services firm Rabobank provided an additional €80m ($90m) of funding for its strategic investment subsidiary, Rabo Frontier Ventures a year ago in February 2019.
