US-based antibody research company KaloBios Pharmaceuticals has raised $70m in its IPO.

Investors included RaQualia Pharma, which provides clinical and pre-clinical candidates for human patients

All existing institutional investors, including Polaris Ventures, Versant Ventures, SV Life Sciences, Sparta, and Ascension Health Ventures participated at or above their pro-rata level in the current financing.

Formerly known as Linkwell Communications, the company said its platform reached members across 22 health plans, including Humana, Health Net and WellPoint.

The investment is one of the first from the Tata Capital Healthcare Fund I, which made a final close at R320 crore ($40m) in April last year and is run by Visalakshi Chandramouli.
