Novo Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Denmark-based drugs group, led the C round, alongside peers from US-based healthcare companies Johnson & Johnson, Mayo Clinic and Covidien.

Medical Marijuana (MJNA) and CannaVest led the A round.

His previous investments as a partner at CMEA from 2006 include Visiogen (acquired by Abbott in 2009), InSound Medical (acquired by Sonova in 2010), and VasoNova (acquired by Teleflex in 2011).

Endosense has now raised $44.6m in its C round following an initial close in November from venture capital firms.
