US-based SVB Capital is raising $300M for a new strategic investors fund.

France-based Iris Capital, backed by Orange and Publicis, has entered into a partnership with Germany-based Capnamic Ventures for early-stage investments in German digital economy start-ups.

Texas-based incubator InCube Labs, partnered with the University of Texas at San Antonio, raises $30m from local and private investors to support life science startups.

As executive vice-president of strategy and corporate development, Long will lead Western Digital Capital.

In March last year, Linkage, a non-profit organisation made up of 600 senior living communities in 39 US states, and Ohio state-backed CincyTech set up Linkage Ventures.

News provider Boston Business Journal said the company would invest $2m to $4m this year on its incubator, compared to $3m to $5m in its first year, 2012.
