US-based education materials provider Follett Corporation partners with Atrium Capital to fund early stage education and technology companies.

Hyde Park Venture Partners, formed out of Hyde Park Angels founded at the University of Chicago, announces more than $20m for early-stage tech firms in the Illinois area.

The Seahawk Fund will fund start-ups and be part of the school's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and UNCW Research Foundation.

The fund, Bloomberg Beta, has already backed Newsle, MkII, Nodejitsu, Codecademy, Errplane and ProsperWorks.

Rebright Partners, the Japan-based incubator and mentoring fund led by serial entrepreneur and VC professional Takeshi Ebihara, is investing the firm's latest fund in consumer-focused mobile and internet start-ups in south-east Asia's more burgeoning technology markets.
