The accountancy software provider has closed $17.5m in funding and announced a corporate venturing unit dubbed Expensify Ventures.

The mobile payment company has filed confidentially for an initial public offering that would grant exits to Visa, Citi and Starbucks.

Ride sharing service Ola has participated in the mobile payments processing service's series C round, which was led by hedge fund Falcon Edge.

Marlette, the operator of personal loan service Best Egg, has raised $75m from backers including student loans company Navient and is targeting $450m more in debt.

The unit, which counts Yahoo and Alibaba among its successes, will be wound down in favour of larger investments, the first of which could be in lending platform SoFi.
